We want to introduce everyone to BUSTER- he is an eight month old border collie mix little angel of a puppy.
When we received him from the Merced shelter we got him home and noticed something wasn’t right about his left hind leg.
We took him to see our vet, Dr. Grant Patrick (who is absolutely amazing!) and he sent us to see a specialist surgeon.
Unfortunately what we found out about Busters’ history is that he was more than likely hit by a car approximately 5 months ago. His hind leg fracture is so terrible that the surgeon informed us that the best course of action was to amputate. It is so heartbreaking to know this pup, with the right care and concern could have existed after the car accident with all four limbs. It’s also devastating to know that we will have to make the decision to remove the leg with only his best interest at heart.
So we are reaching out to the community- we want to find a peaceful, quiet place for Buster during his rehabilitation. He certainly has a tough road ahead of him and we are committed to doing everything possible to make his life the best it can be. Please contact us if you might be willing to help.
